Breastfeeding 101

Today I attended a breast feeding class with a girlfriend. I really hope to be able to breastfeed as much as I can, but I know how difficult it can be. I have to say the class was informative and I definitely learned a thing or two. There was one hilarious part though where my girlfriend and I tried not to be giggly school girls. During the video we watched they touched on pumping at work. They stressed the importance of finding a comfortable space where you won't be interrupted. While they are going over this there is a woman in the video who goes into an office and hangs her "Do not disturb" sign on the door. She settles into a chair, opens her top, attaches the pump and then takes out a picture of her child and stares at it fondly. I'm so sorry but it took everything I had not to bust up laughing when she took out the photo. Call me naughty, but all I could think of was a man going in to make a "donation" and needing a magazine to help things along. Pictures of babies is now the porn of new moms. I know I'm going to write these things and then look back on them as I'm taking out my picture and think what a naive ass I was!

What's in a name?

Well, I have decided to go ahead and tell the world the babies name. I was hesitant at first because I really didn't want the negative feedback. Then I decided, screw it. If you don't like the name then you should be happy it isn't yours! Of course, I can't tell you the name without telling you the process. That would be cheating.

The hubby and I have been together over 11.5 years. Sometime back in date number 2 I knew I would be having this man's child. So I did what any other normal 20-something would do....I started writing down names that I liked. I also started writing down names that he liked. We'd watch a show and he'd say "I like that name." I would then write it down. He had no idea I was doing this. At this 20 something age it just wasn't something that you share. Once I got pregnant though I whipped out the book and we started going through the list. Some of the names were funny. Definitely had alot of "what the heck was I thinking" moments as we crossed names off the list.

Once we had the list narrowed down we started talking family names. We both pretty much decided right away that we'd use family names for the babies middle name. After writing down grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc we finally had middle names selected. We'd go with Maxwell if it was a boy, after my Grandpa Keith whose middle name was Maxwell. We'd go with Elsie for a girl after Bill's Grandma Elsie. It was easy! We liked the traditional quality of the names and the very strong masculine vs feminine characteristics which was going to be important when pairing with the first name.

I got a crazy hair brain idea that if we weren't going to find out the sex of the baby I wanted to just pick one name. A name that could be for a boy or a girl. As we looked at our list we realized that it could work. We then had some time to stew on it and during that time added other names to the list that we would hear on tv, see in movie credits or read in a book or magazine. Finally we took out the list and got to business. I handed the hubby the list and said cross out all that you don't like, leave only the ones you really like. I knew that he might cross off some that I really liked, but I just never felt it was worth it to get in some sort of name debate. I felt like we both should really like the name. When he was done, I grabbed the list and did the same. After that, we only had two left. We put them both with the middle and last name and knew we had a winner. In fact, I can't even tell you what the other name was that we didn't pick so that is a good sign!

So here you have it, if you are still awake. The name of our love child.

Leyton Maxwell Ball or Leighton Elsie Ball

Pronounced "Lay-ton." A perfect combination of unique and traditional.

Close to finished!!!

Tag teaming with the hubby we were able to get the room almost complete this weekend! A new light is in, new dimmer switch, shelving unit up, mobile up, bedding on the bed, diaper holder hanging and THE CRIB IS IN! We made the mistake of getting the crib installed in the living room only to find we couldn't get it through the hall. Luckily it wasn't too hard for us to get it undone and put back together in the room. I had to reorganize a bit because the crib is HUGE! Looks so much bigger in there, but I love it and moving the dresser by the bed made sense. Now all that is left is to put the artwork above the crib, hang the baby clothes on the wall under the shelves and put on crib skirt when it is finished. You can see all the pictures on Flickr!! I'm so in love with the room, I think I'm moving in.

The mobile

When I was looking for things for the room I knew I wanted a mobile. Only problem was all the store bought ones were a little bit ridiculous and the ones are Etsy were a little bit expensive. Plus, none had anything to do with the look I was going for. I did like the style of one and recruited my crafty friend Rain to bend some wire for me to make the base. Then luckily my other crafty friend Jaymi unknowingly gave me the felt alphabet letters that I was going to buy on Etsy to put it together!
Finally the mobile is finished. I know at the moment it kind of looks dull. Turns out that the A-G letters were the drab colors! I decided to put it together anyway and when the baby is born I will redo it with the name. I also think I'll add some felt balls in between the letters cause you know...you can never have too many balls.

Before the first of the year I started looking at ways we could save some money. The first one is going to be switching our cable/internet/phone provider...see ya Comcast! The next was our car and renters insurance. I did a quote through Geico, but only just got into an office so I could chat with them further. Ends up this move is seriously going to save us a TON of money and we will have better coverage. Plus, after I was done signing up they gave me these overalls. Seriously adorable even if my baby will be a walking advertisement!

34 Weeks!

And what a whirlwind week it has been! The baby is roughly 4.5 lbs, closest to a cantaloupe. Just like that we are officially in the melon category. Only 6 weeks left and only 3 weeks until I am considered full term! While my due date is May 6th, my bets are on April. Maybe the 27th and the baby will share a bday with his Grandma...although I think she wants to be called Mimi. It is really starting to hit me that at any moment we could have a baby. It is both a frightening and lovely thought all at the same time.

How far along: 34 Weeks

Total weight gain/loss: 11lbs! Not too shabby.

Stretch marks: I'm giving you a front shot of the belly this time. You can't even tell where the few stretch marks are and as you can see I still have a belly button. It's not a crater like it used to be, but still there. You will also notice that the hourglass shape could now be described more as "Snowman."

Sleep: I have to say it's been good the past few days. Only waking up to pee, not in much discomfort. Apparently though the snoring has kicked into high gear!

Movement: The movement is very apparent now although it is less kicking and more stretching. When the baby starts moving you can just sit and watch my stomach ripple and wave. It's a crazy site and I find myself more fascinated by that than by actually feeling it with my hand.

Food cravings: Not really this week. My coworker Judy brought in a breakfast burrito yesterday which she kindly shared with me. I would like another soon, but I think that has more to do with how delicious it was. I seriously feel hungry all the time though.

Frustrations: My recent pedicure. I was having a really tough day last week and decided to get a pedi to try and relax. There is a place by work that I hadn't been to so I went there. I'm so serious when I tell you that 4 of the women that worked there just kept saying "You are sooo HUGE!" or "You must be having twins!" Even the other customers in there were disgusted and giving me looks like "You poor thing." This is when the not so nice Stacey wants to kill someone. I kept my composure but inside I am having images of drowning these woman in the pedi tubs. I mean seriously, I'm 5'10" and not a small woman by any means so when I go in there on a good non pregnant day it's already like walking into munchkin land. Next time I'll show them how "HUGE" I am when I push my growing size 10 foot into their face.

What I miss: Not feeling hungry all the time.

Weekly Wisdom: Stick to at home pedicures. I'm sure I can teach the hubby how to paint toe nails right?

Milestones: THE ROOM! I can't tell you how happy I am to have so much done. The hubby is working on items this weekend and I have a couple crafts up my sleeve so it should be wrapping up in no time!

Thought I'd give you a couple more belly shots. I see a difference, just a more rounded fuller looking stomach. Just for kicks I thought I'd throw in a front shot too since you haven't seen that angle. My waist is gone! I have developed a slight Linea Nigra below my belly button, which you can barely see in this photo. This would be the darker line that for some women can run from under the breast and all the way down the belly and varies in shade. Mine is light but I have to say...I kind of like it!

Something odd....

On Monday I had a doctor's appointment and was finally able to take a couple pictures to share with you. For my regular doctor and my prenatal care I go to a Family Practice Residency Program. I'm a BIG fan of residents. They are young, they are excited and they are not jaded by the industry quite yet. The longest you could have a particular one is three years, but so far every person I have seen is lovely. When they asked if I wanted to be seen there through my pregnancy instead of an OB I was all for it.
It is a family practice office so they basically see people from birth to death. This means the waiting room has its share of adult and child entertainment. There are always great magazines and a nice book swap shelf for the adults. For the kids there is a little play room....and let me tell you the kids love it. I think it's great, but also find something a bit odd about the mural paintings that are on the outside wall of the playroom. Let's take a look...At first glance we have a girl in a blue dress. Then you notice that she doesn't have any arms. Then you might notice that she is on a box, slumped over and appears to be standing in a corner. Also, she doesn't look too happy! Don't find this one odd enough? Ok, let's pair her with the next shot.First you might notice that this boy is crying. Then you notice that he is holding a box with X's...which can sometimes be taken as a sign of death. Then you notice the frog legs dangling out of the box and my heavens, if you aren't disturbed yet then I'm not sure we see eye to eye when child friendly happy art is concerned!

Oh George.....

I have some pretty hilarious and odd dreams. I always have, but the pregnancy seems to have taken them to a whole new level. Most of them I only share with my closest friends because if I posted them on here, you would all have me committed. Last nights was just too good to not share, and it was short and sweet.

Basically in the dream there is some sort of world event going on. I don't quite recall what the event was, but it wasn't good. No one could leave their homes, use phones or basically step outside. At the time this event went down...I was in Target. So there I am very pregnant and stuck inside Target. I made some buddies in there and we all decided it wasn't so bad. We had everything we needed! Bathrooms, food, bedding, clothing, etc. Suddenly, my water breaks. Now Target isn't seeming like such a good place to have a baby because who is going to deliver it?! One of my buddies remembers that George Clooney is there, and seeing how he was a doctor on tv for so long we should get him because he must know something about delivering a baby. My response, "George Clooney is not the kind of man you want taking a baby OUT of you. George Clooney is the kind of man you want putting a baby INSIDE of you."
Ha! Ain't that the truth!

A place for the baby.....

Finally we have some serious progress in the room! The room got painted today and then I went to town putting things in their places. There is still stuff to do: wash clothes, new bedding for bed, hang new light on ceiling, hang photo collage above changing table/dresser, hang outfits on wall under shelving, make and hang mobile, put together crib and put it where the bassinet is. Overall these things seem little though to the amount of stuff that did get done. I love how it looks and am happy that I feel like I achieved giving the baby a room while still keeping a guest room in the house. I can't wait till it's all finished, but for now this mama needs a rest. You can see more pictures on Flickr.

IndieSac Success!

What a successfully grand day it was at the California Museum! The doors opened at 10am to a line waiting outside and the vendors packed up at 3pm to a bunch of people still shopping! A consistent crowd, and reportedly good sales for all. We are so thankful to the museum and all our wonderful vendors and followers for coming out and supporting. I'm also super thankful to Amy, my cohort for helping with another great show!!

I didn't vend this event and decided instead to just help the vendors whenever I could and pass out information/answer questions about IndieSac. This pregnant momma was WORN OUT by the end of it and even Amy snapped a photo of me where I look as if I'm about to lay down at my booth for a nap!

Friday, March 19, 2010

IndieSac Tomorrow!!

Don't forget to come out to say hello. The weather will be beautiful, the vendors will be fantastic and you get to browse around the museum for free! I can't think of a better way to spend some time on a Saturday!!

33 Weeks!

Moving right along. The baby is now the weight of a pineapple. You know you are getting close when the melon reference kicks in and that is just around the corner!

How far along: 33 Weeks....7 to go!

Total weight gain/loss: 9lbs, you'll get another update at 34 weeks.

Stretch marks: Sames ones. I would like to point out that I still have an inny belly button. It's very shallow now but it hasn't popped yet. Is it going to be like the plug in the turkey and pop when the baby is ready?

Sleep: Getting worse. At times I feel like I should just get up. Also would love a Lazy Boy right now as I think I'd sleep better if I was sitting up.

Movement: Lots of it in the past few days. Getting higher movement now, feel feet in my ribs/sternum area. Last night the baby was more on the right side of my belly and so it looked all flat on one side and a bump on the other.

Food cravings: I love chocolate, I love drinking milk and I love fruit.

Frustrations: Wrist pain. Apparently carpal tunnel strikes 1 in 4 women during pregnancy. Guess who won the lottery on this one?! Feel broken at times, started sleeping in wrist braces last night and seemed to help a bit.

What I miss: Not having something achy.

Weekly Wisdom: Relax and enjoy naps when you can!

Milestones: My first baby shower! It was so much fun and I got so many wonderful items. Now really motivated to check the rest off my to do list!!

Why break tradition?

For the past couple years I have posted a photo for St. Patty's Day, and so here you have it.

See, back in 2008 I Googled for an image to use and this was the first one that came out. I found it ABSOLUTELY hilarious and had to use it. What ended up happening was tremendous. The amount of blog hits I received over this posting was off the charts. I tried again in 2009 just to see what would happen and low and behold the outcome was the same. So, why break tradition right? What is best about this picture is the new people coming here probably think this is me. Um, no. Although with the right push up bra I could probably get close right now, although hopefully mine would both be the same size! Secondly, I like that they have an impression of what this blog is about and then find themselves later realizing that all they have found is a ridiculous blog about babies and cooking and crafts.

Happy St. Patty's Day everyone!

Baby Stuff

Like I mentioned yesterday, uh 5 minutes ago, I have found some items from when I was a baby and am going to try to incorporate some of them into the babies room. Let's take a looksy.
These were my two favorite stuffed animals. The cat is missing an eye, and let's not talk about how scary the bears eyes look in this photo. These might go on a shelf, but I'm just not sure yet. They are pretty worse for wear!!
These are my two blankets. Amazingly both are in EXCELLENT condition. I wasn't a blankie type of kid. Didn't drag them around, but do remember having the white one with me occasional in my bed. I LOVE that blanket now. It will most definitely be somewhere in the room. It is just too cute.I also ran across this silver set of a bowl, spoon and fork. It has my name engraved in the bowl. I think these are good shelf items, just need to clean the tarnish....how do you do that?
Finally we have three outfits. I loooove these and at least one of them will hang on a wall somewhere. I think it depends on if the baby is a boy or girl which one I will hang.

About Me

Getting ready for the baby I have been going through some items in my hope chest. My mom kept some items of mine when I was a baby and now I have them. I decided to take them out to see if I wanted to use anything, we'll see more of those items tomorrow (or in 5 minutes when I do the post for Tuesday..ha!)

One thing that was in the box of goods was my stats and I thought I'd share these all with you and tell you a little about me.I was born January 17th, 1976....I was due February 29th, 1976. It was leap year that year and I was roughly 6 weeks early. My mom was on her way to her baby shower when I decided to break the water and get this party started. As you can see, while I was only 5lbs I was still 19 inches. A long and lean little sucker. You may have also noticed that I was Severson "A." My mom spent her pregnancy being told that there was only one baby in there, and when she went to deliver it was finally sprung on her that there would be two babies. Severson "B" would be my brother Steven, who unfortunately did not make it very long. I wanted the party to start early while he preferred to have more time.

Some of you may also not know that my hubby is also a twin. A twin born on January 10th, 5 years before me. We had a good shot of having twins and if we keep having babies then that may happen. For now, I'm content with the one. Another thing I noticed on this card is that January 17th is a Saturday so I can only assume that I not only broke the water, but was literally born the same day as the shower....at almost 6pm. Wow, seems like a quick delivery! Mom will have to confirm that one! I'm hoping to get on that quick delivery list myself, but the early delivery one I would be more than happy to stay off of!

For the past couple months I have been stocking up on diapers whenever I can. If I find a deal, I go and get them. I'm not particular to a brand yet, seeing how I have no idea what I'm doing, so all that matters to me at this point is they are on sale. I'll discover later which ones hold in "blow outs" the best!

Recently I was turned onto Diapers.com. Seriously a GREAT website for anyone that has a child in diapers. Not only do they have EVERYTHING, but they also offer sales, free shipping over $50 and the diapers come the next day! When you are a new member you get $10 off your first order with a referral. Would you like one?! Well..if you have to order diapers, use the code STAC1237 at check out to receive the $10 off. You will still be able to get your free delivery as well!! Recently I found a great deal and got $50 worth of diapers for $25 through this site...you really can't beat that.

Baby Shower!

Today was my first baby shower! It was so much fun having a bunch of my girlfriends in the same room together. We had wonderful food and just relaxed and socialized. I got wonderful gifts both from my registry and off. It really made for a nice mix because while you really want the stuff from your registry....it's also fun to be surprised. I'm really looking forward to having the room together soon so I can display all the great stuff. Thanks again to all the lovely ladies that helped out and that came to the shower, I felt truly blessed!

Bloggers make great friends!

When I started this blog back in September of 2006, yep....almost FOUR YEARS AGO...I had no idea what I was doing or what I was getting myself into. What I knew was that I had family in Florida, family in Texas, family in Washington and friends in between. I knew that I was not a good "phone" person and that maybe this would be an easy way to keep those people informed about what was going on with me. I didn't make it a private blog cause I just figured, what the heck...if there were others out there that wanted to check in so be it.

I still definitely get questions from some that don't understand blogging and while I don't have an exact answer I just love doing it. I've tried stopping at times, thinking I'm over it, and typically it takes about a week for me to miss it and want to go back. I think blogging became most important to me when I had my knee injury. I was home, I was alone for most of the day, I was isolated and I was in SERIOUS PAIN. Blogging was my outlet into the outside world and during that time I found blogs of others that I have read ever since.

There is a slight weirdness to it at times. The thought that there are people all over the world who know about me, read about me and yet I have no idea who they are. On the other hand what I put out there on my blog is me 100% and if there is someone out there that relates to that and finds something interesting then I think that is awesome! Thank you, I'm glad you are here reading. This has become so much more than just keeping family informed. Wow, that was quite a rambling to just show you something cool!

I have a blogger that is my friend and her name is Carol. I've mentioned Carol before on here, especially at Christmas when she does her advent calendar. I've never met Carol face to face, although we did come close this year, I've never spoken to Carol on the phone. On the other hand I know more about Carol than I know about some of my friends that I do see and talk to. Carol and her husband Mike are good people. If I was going to Canada I would have no hesitation to even stay with them and not fear that I'd end up in a bathtub of ice with my kidney missing or something! I "met" Carol during my knee escapade and liked her right away. We had things in common, she made me laugh and through the years of commenting on each others blogs we have become friends. During the Olympics it was sooo fun reading Carol's blog as she was right in the heart of it. I dare say that Carol's blog may have been more fun than the actual Olympics....sorry Curling! One day Carol blogged about Quatchi, the adorable Olympic mascot. I commented that he was cute and the baby would love one. Just a general comment and yet Carol got one for the baby and sent it to me. Not only that but the Quatchi I got has mittens which makes him even cooler. It was touching, dare I say in my emotional pregnant state I got a little misty. She didn't have to do it, but she did and I'm so thankful to her.

To anyone that thinks, why do you blog? That is so weird! Don't you know they are a bunch of strangers and could be psycho? Do you really want these people to know things about you? I now have found my simple and straight forward answer. Bloggers make great friends!

32 Weeks

Let's just get right down to business and not even talk about how ridiculously close these posts seem to be to each other. The baby is about 3.5lbs, roughly the weight of a large jicama.

How far along: 32 weeks down, 8 to go. Right now I'm rooting for 10-12!

Total weight gain/loss: 9lbs, you'll get another update at 34 weeks.

Stretch marks: Sames ones.

Sleep: It really has it's ups and downs. Some nights I can't sleep at all, it hurts to roll over, I'm constantly running to the bathroom, some appendage has fallen asleep, plagued by leg cramps, etc. Other nights I only have to get up to pee twice and otherwise sleep like a baby.

Movement: Much more pushing than kicking. The other day it felt like the baby was pretending it was Indiana Jones pushing on my sides like the walls were shrinking in. I seriously had to start pushing on each side to get it to stop. The movement is fantastic and uncomfortable all at the same time.

Food cravings: I'm hungry alot. Can't eat much at one given time and then immediately have heart burn. Eating is fun!

Frustrations: No one can feel the baby. Even when it is moving like crazy all it takes is for a hand to hit the stomach and it immediately stops. It's a good thing for me because it works with my hands too, but it's frustrating cause there are others I want to feel it and it's just not happening. I hope this is sign of a mellow baby?

What I miss: Being able to see things below my waist.

Weekly Wisdom: Prune juice will become your friend no matter how gross it tastes.

Milestones: Having a place for the baby to sleep put together!

Last night I went with a coworker to see Alice In Wonderland. This was always one of my favorite Disney cartoons and since this remake starred Johnny Depp and was done by Tim Burton there was NO WAY I was passing it up. Not only that, but I wanted to see it at the IMax 3D. I haven't seen anything in 3D yet since it became the new it thing to do and figured this would be the best way to try it out. I must admit that I got a little dizzy at the beginning when Alice is falling down the hole and during a chase scene but after that I was good. The visuals in this movie are amazing, the acting is fantastic and all together a good Tim Burton flick. I must admit that even above Johnny Depp, the Cheshire Cat was my favorite character!

I recently switched to a cell phone service provider and ended up with a new phone. I wasn't quite sure what to do with my old phone. I didn't think it was in good enough condition to try selling, but I also didn't think it was in such horrible condition that I should just toss it (or recycle it of course!) I started looking online and found all sorts of websites that buy used equipment. I went with the one that looked the easiest to use, Gazelle.com. I have to say that I am 100% satisfied. I filled out a form online, they sent me a prepaid Priority Mail box, they emailed me when my phone arrived, emailed me with a firm offer and now are depositing those funds into my Paypal account. Pretty slick!!!

The Snowman

On Saturday our good friend G decided that our cabin in Donner wouldn't be complete without a snowman. He and Bill piled snow and then G got to carving out the face and body. I'd love to show you a body shot, but it's not very PG-13 and I've already put you through enough shenanigans with Tiger. So, instead you got a shot from the "neck" up. I think the snowman looks very familiar myself, and promptly named him Grimace.

Checking out.....

The next morning Al and Stoned Jesus started packing it in, after a relaxing and rather frustrating weekend with Tiger. Suddenly they realized, they weren't even sure if Tiger made it back to the cabin! They searched high and low when Al finally heard some rumblings from the bunk room.
"Get into my bed!"

"Oh jeez," sighed Al. Apparently Tiger had picked up some locals from the night before. Check out was at 10am so Al kicked out the house guests and told Tiger to get his butt in gear.

All in all the three did have a great time at the cabin, but Al assured Stoned Jesus they would never invite Tiger back again.
"Get into my bed!"

Donner or Bust!

The next day Al and Stoned Jesus decided to start the day early by heading out to the slopes. They decided it was best to leave Tiger back at the cabin for fear of what he might try to do with the other people on the slopes! After returning from a day of skiing, Al found himself a friend and was just about to go for a ride when....
"Get into my bed!" There was Tiger again.

"Seriously Tiger, it's a horse. You need to settle down."

Later that night the three fellas decided to head out into the town of Donner to Club Paris. Right away they knew this was a big mistake as Tiger was hitting on everything in site."Get into my bed!"

Al and Stoned Jesus decided to pack it in early, leaving Tiger behind to fend for himself.

Donner Extravaganza!

Today Al and Stoned Jesus headed up to Donner Lake to spend a weekend at the cabin. They decided to invite a friend to come along with them. A friend that has seen tough times as of late and needed a little get away, out of the public eye.

When they arrived at the cabin they got straight to work on building a snowman by the front door. As soon as they were finished their guest arrived!
"Get into my bed!"

"Settle down Tiger, it's only a snowman," said Al. Right away Al knew that the decision to bring Tiger may indeed backfire.

Cold, the threesome headed into the cabin to start the party off right with a couple drinks. "Get into my bed Al!"

That mango rum really did Al in and next thing he knew he was succumbing to Tiger's charms and being fed grapes. It wasn't long though before Al found himself in the same position he did last year, thankfully with Stoned Jesus there to take care of him!

They're Baaaaaaaaccck!

Last year some of you may remember a fantastic weekend cabin getaway taken by none other than Al and Stoned Jesus! If you aren't familiar you can read all about their crazy shenanigans by clicking here.

I'm happy to report that as we speak these two yahoos are on their way up to Donner tomorrow and this time...they're bringing another friend along. Stay tuned where on Sunday they will report all that they managed to do on their little holiday!

31 Weeks

That's it, 31 weeks. Do you know what that means? That means 9 weeks left! 9 as in a single digit number. How did that happen??? I love doing these updates and yet something about them makes the time go by quicker and the final outcome seem closer and closer. The baby is roughly the weight of 4 navel oranges. I thought that was funny. Apparently they couldn't find one fruit or vegetable that fit the bill.

How far along: 31 weeks

Total weight gain/loss: 9lbs, you'll get another update on this one after my next appt. I just don't like weighing at home.

Stretch marks: Nope, just the same few. I'm furry though. My belly has this fuzz on it. It doesn't have a color, but I never used to be fuzzy before. I'm like a damn ripening peach!

Sleep: Better although last night the dreams were TERRIBLE! I have very weird dreams, and sometimes they are very upsetting. When that happens I usually wake up grouchy or on the verge of tears. Today it was tears. It's amazing how much they can affect you!!

Movement: Moving alot in the last two days, definitely more active in the morning and then very quiet at nights. The movements are becoming less hitting and more stretching. Still have to be just right though to feel them from the outside which is a bummer. Thus the struggle of a plus size women I guess.

Food cravings: McDonald's orange sodas and chocolate ice cream. Not together of course!

Frustrations: Bad skin. I don't know who made up the b.s. that you "glow." I think the only reason I glow is the excess oil on my skin. I've never broken out so much in my life. Seems to attack my nose and chin the most.

What I miss: Having 20 weeks left.

Weekly Wisdom: People will reach out for you when you really need a cookie!

Milestones: Picking a name. Yep, you read that right. I think we have decided on what the name will be. It's not 100% set in stone so I'm not going to post it on here, but if you know my email address and want to contact me...I'll tell you what it is!

Finally, I have a belly shot update. My belly feels HUGE right now and yet, I don't think it looks that much different...do you?? Maybe just looks like it's dropping down more...doesn't seem so pointed straight out. I'll have to take a picture in the evening next time cause I swear by the end of the day it grows bigger.

In common.....

I have something in common with all of the three images in this photo and I'll let you guess what it is....

Yep, I have mastered the pregnancy waddle. It's weird how it happens. It comes on gradually, sneaking in when you are tired and then suddenly WHAM-O...you don't know how to walk any differently. There's a weird force of gravity pulling you from side to side while at the same time trying to keep you from toppling over belly first into the ground. It gives a whole new meaning to the catchy jingle "Weeble Wobbles wobble but they don't fall down!"

The Cake

I wanted to make Whisky a birthday cake and finally got around to it this weekend. I found a simple peanut butter/carrot cake...that really a human could eat. Don't think I didn't take a nibble! Once it was finished I frosted it with some fat free cream cheese and crumbled some Beggin Strips on top. Oh boy was he ready to eat it. I have been giving him a slice a night since I made it and it seriously takes him about 2 seconds to scarf it down. He is the biggest pig!

Baby Blanket

I knew from the get go that I wanted to knit the baby a blanket. I'm sure I'll do some hats down the line as well, but I've never done a blanket before and was excited to take on the long project. I had all intentions of getting this started at Christmas and that didn't happen. Then when I finally did get amped to start, I didn't have the right size needles. This weekend I picked up the needles and the blanket is underway! Wow, blankets take a while. Now I know why I make hats and little scarves! I do love the way it is turning out and LOVE the colors. It will keep repeating that color pattern, I'm just going to make each band of color bigger and bigger towards then middle and then will make them shorter again towards the other end. I'll show you another photo when it's finished and in the room.
