Oh my Pill's Place friends. I'm so sorry for how lame I have been lately. I have decided that I need to take a break. This blog is very important to me, but my heart is not in it right now. I know it will be soon, but not right now. So, I'm taking a break! If you like me, I know you'll be around when I get back. She's Crafty...

My sister doesn't think she is creative or crafty. She always gives me props for being creative, but what she doesn't know...is she is VERY CREATIVE! She wanted to learn to crochet once, so she taught herself and started making people king size blankets. Then she moved onto fleece blankets, then pillow cases, then pajamas...then purses. She has a little shop on Etsy, Flock of Fleece, where she sells her pajama pillow case combos. If you have/know kids, you should buy some because they are adorable and made with love.

Yesterday she sent me a picture of a diaper cake that she was making for her cousin. Seriously how cute is this? I've seen diaper cakes before and many of them are TERRIBLE. This just goes to prove how creative my sister is! Nice job Tami!

Entertaining

Tonight I watched the MTV VMA awards. It's actually pretty rare that I watch these shows. I used to love them, but now I just find them boring and many times don't have very many artists that I want to see perform. This time around, I had to tune in. The main reason...I had to see what kind of outfits Lady Gaga was going to sport. Crazy, but I find this woman oddly fascinating and frightening all at the same time. Boy oh boy did she not disappoint last night!
It seemed like each time I saw her she was in a different outfit. Was she changing in the bathrooms? I heard someone describe her as the Grace Slick of our time and I'd have to say that is the best description I have heard yet. Sadly, I missed her performance but I'm sure it will be re-aired a million times or there is always YouTube.

Of course I can't talk about the VMA's without a mention of the "Kanye/Taylor Swift debacle." I found it sad, and staged all at the same time. The only person that did not seem to be in on it was Taylor herself who looked about ready to crumble on the stage. I really have a feeling it wasn't staged, but sometimes I just don't trust what I see on tv because let's face it...tv LOOOOOOOVES drama. Either way, Kanye is still a douche.

Yummmmy!

This weekend the hubby and I went with to breakfast with G and B to B's family's restaurant, The Market Club. As we were driving there I had a sneaky feeling that we were being tricked and taken to a back alley of which we wouldn't return. Then, tucked in a loading dock was the restaurant. Let me tell you it was awesome! I had pancakes and was only able to eat one they were so fluffy and delicious. Next time I will get the Hamburger Royale because it was royally delicious (with gravy). If you are in Sactown I highly recommend checking this place out!!

Tricky!

Yesterday, when I was leaving work I noticed this on one of the elevator doors.I pushed the elevator button and wouldn't you know it...this particular elevator is the one that arrived. So I stepped inside, pushed the bottom floor button and hopped right back out. Then I pushed the elevator button again. Waited, waited....and this damn elevator came right back again! Seriously, I think the elevator is out to get me.

The Elevator Sagas

Yes, things just keep getting weirder in the elevators here at my office. To recap: I've been stuck twice. Both times having to pry the doors open like She-Ra. I'm cursed by floor number 3. Pretty much every time I go into the elevator it stops at floor 3....and NO ONE IS THERE. My friend Judy has now experienced when she is with me in the elevator and is convinced that I am cursed by that floor. Last week I was trying to go home, got in the elevator and PUSHED floor three myself instead of ground floor. It's really getting to me!

Friday there was a little party in an office on my floor. The hallway smelled like beanie weenies and you could hear lots of hooting and hollering. At the end of the day Judy and I got in the elevator with three "gentlemen" holding red keg cups. Now please keep in mind that these are CORPORATE office buildings. Most people are in suits and ties or at least corporate office attire. I can assure you it wasn't apple cider in their keg cups. As we are going down one of these fine men starts ripping farts. Like multiple times. Unbelievable! I still can't figure out what kind of weird planet I am on when I'm in the elevators here but I'm not sure I like it!

Surrounded by Turkeys!

We still have two turkeys that hang around our office building and they have been out alot lately! On the way to work I just started seeing a whole gaggle of turkeys hanging out on the side of the freeway. What is a group of turkeys called anyway? I think gaggle is geese, but it works for now. Don't these guys know that Thanksgiving is just around the corner???

Apparently this labor day weekend I needed a little siesta...from blogging. Sometimes it's hard to post every day and this weekend the brakes slammed on and I was left with absolutely nothing to say. So, I'm now awake and ready to fire this baby back up. Hopefully some of you still stuck around while I was napping!

I thought I had a dog....

Apparently I got a chicken. A chicken that doesn't like to swim. Whisky has always been a little on the tentative side. In fact, that was how we picked him out of the litter. He was the one hiding in the corner afraid to come to us. He never really went through that adventurous puppy stage. Getting him to walk to the corner took forever because he would stop and hide when he saw anything strange. Strange could be a boat parked on the road, a cat or just a pile of leaves. He's a lab though. I figured he'd grow out of the water thing and learn to love it and swim and swim! Nope, not Whisky. He does like to go in the water. He loves diving his head under for sticks. He DOES NOT like to walk past where he can stand. If he does happen to go too deep, he gets out of the water and won't go back in. I'm about to take away his lab card.

A pillow for Abby.

My girlfriend Kerri just started going to school to be a massage therapist. Doesn't that have a nice ring to it? "Friend is a massage therapist." I just love the way that rolls of the tongue.

Anyway, going to school for Kerri was a big deal because she also works and has a daughter that she isn't going to get to tuck in at night. Kerri and Abby like to give each other notes so Kerri thought it would be perfect to have a pillow with a pocket for Abby that she could leave a note in for when she goes to bed. For a personal touch, she thought it would be cool if it used some fabric from one of her nightgowns.

So, Kerri went to the fabric store and picked out some complimentary fabric and brought it all over to me so I could assemble a pillow. This is my very first pillow (which you might be able to tell!) I hope that Abby likes it!
